Automobiles, furniture and other household items

Catholic Charities Migration and Refugee Services welcomes refugees who have been forced to leave their countries due to warfare, national disaster, and/or political and religious persecution.

We provide comprehensive resettlement services designed to facilitate the refugees’ acculturation into their new life of freedom here in the United States and to assist them to become self-sufficient members of society, usually within four months of their arrival in the United States.

Refugees arrive in Connecticut without any of the basic necessities. To help us furnish their apartments, we are always in need of beds, bureaus, tables, chairs, sets of dishes, pots and pans, flatware, bed linens, blankets, pillows, lamps, televisions, and other basic household furnishings in good condition.

Other items always in demand are laundry detergent, soap, toiletries, toilet paper, cans of coffee, flour, sugar, and cooking oil. ·

We also accept used cars that will pass inspection. The cars are given to those refugees who need them for transportation to their place of employment.

We can arrange to pick up your donations based on our current needs, our storage availability, and your proximity to Hartford, Connecticut.
